Alexios Rosario-Moore, MFA, PhD

I am a researcher, professor, and former academic counselor with over twenty-five years of experience in K-12 and higher education. As the academic director of Bard Early College, I led college counseling for two hundred high school students. More recently, I served as coordinator of the M.Ed. in Urban Higher Education program at the University of Illinois at Chicago where I prepared college counselors and administrators for careers in higher education.

I am an award-winning essayist with 10 years of experience teaching rhetoric and composition to undergraduate students. I have taught at HBCUs, Catholic Universities, R1 Private Universities, R1 Public Universities, and Small Liberal Arts Colleges. I am an Assistant Professor of Educational Policy and Leadership at Northern Illinois University and a faculty affiliate with Bard College’s Institute for Writing and Thinking.

I live in Oak Park, Illinois with my wife, daughter, and beagle.
